Facial Masks: What They Are,

What They Can Do

Do you wonder about the facial mask products that you see on the store shelves? Many people worry about just what is in these products and if the money that they spend on them is worth it. If you would like to reap the rewards of a beauty mask without worrying about it, then try using a home treatment? You can make a natural facemask right from your kitchen.

The goals of any facial mask is to: make your skin healthier, better looking, and safe from wrinkles for a bit longer.

The Rules

The only real rule to using face masks or making your own at home is to make sure that you avoid any and all products that have additives and preservatives. In fact, some of the best facial products are those that are made from 100% organic products.

Dry Skin Facial Treatment

2 ounces of fresh avocado
1 ounce of orange juice
1 teaspoon of acacia honey
1 teaspoon of molasses
5 drops of chamomile essential oil

Mix in a blender. If too thick, add a little more orange juice. Now, use your fingers to spread the mixture onto the face and neck. Leave it on for 30 minutes or longer. Use a warm flannel to rinse the mask. This will help to exfoliate the skin. Store the remaining mixture for use the next day. This will provide a moisturized and healthy feeling for you.

Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin, use a homemade honey mixture as follows. Warm a small container of honey in a double boiler. Do not let it get too hot. Once it gets to a nice warm temperature, rub it onto your face generously. Leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water then with cool.

Oily Skin Solution

For oily skin, try a homemade egg white mask. All you need to do is to whisk one egg white until it forms peaks that are stiff. Add to this six drops of witch hazel and six drops of lemon juice. Keeping it out of your eyes, add it to your face. After 15 minutes, rinse with warm water. This will help to keep oily skin from drying out your face.

Sunburned Skin Solution

This butter face mask can work for sunburned individuals or others that have damaged or sensitive skin. Combine one tablespoon of unsalted butter that has been softened with one large mashed up strawberry. For those with normal to dry skin, use a slice of cucumber pushed through a sieve. For very dry skin, use one egg yolk. For oily skin use one tablespoon of lemon juice. Leave on for 15 minutes and use a warm washcloth to wash it off.

Use any of these facemasks to have a beautiful, rejuvenating experience. Of course, you can also make your own masks out of the ingredients that you may have at home. In any case, you will enjoy the sensation and you will know just how healthy this mask is for you.
